 Welcome to The Slade Day Nursery home page The Slade Day Nursery offers high quality care for children from 6 months of age. We are a fee based full day care provision, open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. We are an all year round provision but we are also able to offer term time only places. In addition to this we also work closely with the attached Nursery school to offer wrap around care to extend the school day. This enables parents and carers to undertake training or return to work. A main principle of the Day Nursery is the Key Person Approach. This is where individual members of staff care for, build relationships and co-ordinate information for individual children and families. The day nursery also operates a family grouping system. The day nursery is open plan and therefore children of all ages share the same space. This allows siblings to remain together during their time with us. We believe that caring for the children in this way enables them to develop their social skills and it also has a notable effect on their language and communication skills. As part of a Children’s Centre we are able to offer families support in many different ways. We work closely with both the Nursery School and Extended Services teams to make sure that our practice is consistent for all children and families.  |
